SOUL SPACE As part of this year’s conference, we decided to ofer a ‘soul space’ which was led my Meriel Pinkerton. The idea was to set aside an hour in the busyness and take some time with God to refect on Him and what He had been speaking to us about. Meriel based her refection on the story of Peter in John 21 v 1 -19 focusing on how God had restored Peter after his denial of Jesus before the crucifxion. Using scripture, song and silence, we were encouraged to refect on God as a God of restoration and hope. Having already sat through two morning sessions being challenged by Malcolm, it was lovely to have a place of quietness to go and have ‘time out’ – to allow what God had been saying to settle on our hearts and let the Holy Spirit minister to us. Meriel ended the session by playing the song ‘Oceans’, reminding us that we are being sent out on a mission to do kingdom work and that God will not let go of us. The seminar ran twice, proving popular both times with men and women. Certainly, people seemed refreshed as they left, with many asking of when we could do it again. ‘Rest precedes the voice of God. Without stillness our experience is limited.’ Jenny McQuillan
