Café Church

Café Church 1st October to 5th November 2017 We explored the following aspects of ‘Identity’:
Café Church ran for six weeks over the autumn
period, bringing some new and familiar faces of Week 1: Who Am I? – Exploring our own identity
those who wanted to explore the big questions of (Genesis 1:27; John 4)
life in an informal and welcoming environment.
Concurrent with the regular Café Church in the Week 2: Who Do You Say That I Am? – Exploring
Oasis, Bill Shields and Martin Delaney stood in for the identity of Jesus (Mark 8:27-30)
Norman Harper in running a bible study for some
of those who regularly attend our Wednesday Week 3: Our Distorted Identity – Exploring our
             night English Language classes along with some of   fallen nature and broken lives (Ephesians 2:1-10;
their friends. So popular was this bible study that Romans 5:12-21)
they had to move from the reception room to the
Minor Hall, owing to the lack of space for all those Week 4: Our Restored Identity – Exploring how
attending. Jesus transforms our identity (Luke 15:11-32)

Both groups (in the Oasis and downstairs) Week 5: Living with a New Identity – Exploring
followed the same theme and studied the same how to live with an identity founded on Christ
material but in a way that was appropriate to (Philippians 2:5-11; Galatians 5:16-26)
the participants. Our theme for this session was
‘Identity’. We wanted to tap into something that is Week 6: Our New Community – Exploring our
highly relevant in our current society and nothing identity as members of the church family (Acts
seemed more relevant than how we view our own 2:41:47; 4:32-36)
             identity.
