A Hustings event hosted by Care and Evangelical Alliance (NI) in High Kirk Presbyterian Church on Tuesday 28th April. The event was chaired by Rev Dr Norman Hamilton, a former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church and convenor of the Council for Church in Society. Approximately 100 people were in attendance at the event. Issues addressed included human rights, corporation tax, role of faith in policy making, and whether to withdraw from the European Union. Present: • Ian Paisley Junior – MP for North Antrim from 2010-2015 and standing for the Democratic Unionist Party. • Mr Daithi McKay – MLA for North Antrim and standing for Sinn Fein. • Mr Robin Swann – MLA for North Antrim and standing for the Ulster Unionist Party. • Ms Jayne Dunlop – formerly a local councilor for Ballymena North, standing for the Alliance Party. • Mr Timothy Gaston - councilor for Bannside, standing for the Traditional Unionist Voice. • Mr Declan O’Loan - councilor for Ballymena, standing for the Social Democratic and Labour Party.
