Over the course of this year in Boys’ Brigade,
there will be lots going on in each of the different
sections. Below is a brief overview of what’s been
going on at the minute.
In Anchor boys, a couple of different groups have
visited to show the boys what they do. One of
the groups was the St John Ambulance and
Ambulance service. The boys got to see all the
different gadgets inside the ambulance as well
as the different equipment that they would use.
Another group that visited is the “Gospel Bus
Ministry Ballymena.” The boys got to see the bus BB
that they use to outreach and share their faith
with others. They also got to hear what they do
each day.
In Junior Section this year the theme is “Into
the Wild”, where they will be exploring how God
provides, cares and guides them. As part of that,
the boys will be learning more about adventurers,
animals, learning survival and how to work
together as a team. All the while they will be
exploring and finding out what an adventure it
really is to follow Jesus.
The Company Section is following the Discover
programme created by the Boys’ Brigade. The
schedule for a standard night usually starts off
with inspection, then they have bible class and
prayer topics. In bible class. this year, the boys are
going to be learning about “the Beatitudes” from
Jesus’ sermon on the mount. They will be trying to
understand why Jesus said them and how they can
be applied in today’s culture. After prayer topics,
the boys go into badge classes. Currently the boys
are doing a badge class based around fitness and
improving their core fitness. After bible class and
badge class is finished, the boys have the choice
between chilling out in the Oasis and playing
sports, with sports ranging from football,
basketball, volleyball and many more.
Finally, for parents wanting to keep up to date
