God’s Presence
The incarnation on that first Christmas
was about God coming close, God became
en-fleshed and he drew near and everything
changed. But this was just the beginning for
when Jesus left us He promised to leave us the
Holy Spirit who would not just live with us (as
Jesus did), but live within us. We now live in the
era of the Spirit. I want us to become a
presence driven church so that as people come
to us they will say “God is really among you”
(1 Corinthians 14:25).
Christmas is a time for gifts and the Holy Spirit
has given gifts to His church. I sometimes think
we have just scratched the surface of the
potential of what God has given us as a church.
I want to press into this theme in the New Year
as we explore the gifts God has for us – let’s
unwrap the gifts and the untapped potential
for ministry in our midst. I believe that God has
more for us so let’s turn into the New Year with
a fresh expectancy and an openness to what
He is going to do so that next year will be
even more remarkable.
Be Blessed this
Christmas,
Norman
