Church at Sea of Galilee with
typical boat from Jesus’ time
The calmness of the Sea of Galilee right
next to our Kibbutz was a wonderful start
to our trip. We held our Sunday service
on the boat and there was an air of
togetherness and peace. At Capernaum Skull Hill
one could imagine the crowds (where it is suspected Calvary was)
gathered on the hillside as Jesus
delivered his sermon. At the Holocaust
memorial, I saw film and stories of
cruelty to our fellow man but also
survival and hope. Masada National Park
showed the beauty of the region and the
history of the mass suicide of Jews in the
great revolt rather than surrender to the
Romans. What an enlightening and
memorable trip.
