I have called this report Seasons, as seasons
carry change. We’ve had lots of that this past
year. We have seen Anne Taylor retire, a
valued member of the staff for 27 years and
Nikki Gillan take over the pastoral role. John
Jenkins stepped down as Clerk of Session but
thankfully we have Ken Revie now serving in
this key position. My thanks to you John for
how you have helped me throughout the past
three and a half years. We now have Marlene
Hutchinson join us to nurture disciples amongst
our children. Emily Bramley has stepped into Kirk Session has 28 people who take
our office administration vacancy from last responsibility for spiritual leadership which is
September and has been a pleasure to work again a complex and difficult task. This is an
alongside. Also, Keith McIlroy joined the staff area of service which is deserving of our
in discipleship and mission. Lots of changes, gratitude and recognition here and I want
many of which have all added to the to thank you all. In particular, I want to
wonderful staff team we have, and we owe encourage our four recent new “young” elders
a debt of gratitude to them all for doing such and wish them God’s richest blessing in their
challenging work with a devoted attitude. So lives and their service here. Don’t worry guys
on behalf of the whole congregation, thank you. you’ve probably only another 40 years to go
                                                                 and it will fly past!!
I do want to take a few moments to recognise
the volunteers here amongst us and draw to The Congregational Committee contains
your attention the vast resource we are blessed 28 people who also give selflessly to the
with here but additionally their heart to serve running of our fellowship. We normally have
God in High Kirk. These people are tireless in six sub-committee groups but now have eight
their efforts and go largely unnoticed. My due to our building project. My personal thank
desire is to highlight to you the reason they give you to Peter Brown who served for the past 10
so much time and effort. Speaking to many of years as Finance Convenor, for being so
them leaves me in no doubt that it is their heart helpful to work with and for your faithful
to serve God but also to see this place benefit service in such a challenging position.
under sound stewardship and flourish under I welcome Richard Marshall into this role and
God’s direction, which we continue to enjoy. am confident it will be a smooth transition.
The vast range of ministries are too wide to A huge thank you goes to our other Convenors,
mention but we all need to reflect and thank Brian Adams, Marie Hamilton, Philip
those individuals who give so much of McCartney, Gordon Montgomery, Uel Marcus,
themselves each week. Jim Millar and John Jenkins.
