Mission
Give thanks for the new building; remembering it’s not the building but what goes on in it that honours Christ.
As the work continues to grow in Hope House, the new space will be more appealing to those not used to typical
Church as we try to integrate them into our Church family.
Give thanks for the wonderful new Life Centre and pray that those who find life a struggle will come along and
the food and clothes provided will be a blessing to them.
Please pray for the new drop-in on a Tuesday afternoon for those struggling with addictions. Pray that it will be a
space to relax, chat, build relationships and find hope.
Give thanks for the English classes, our teachers and students who come along and pray that more students will
come along because we have the facilities and spaces to support their learning needs.
Pray for Café Church and that God will be working in the hearts of those He wants to attend.
Discipleship
That church members would prioritise their own growth and get involved in Life Groups.
The new spaces can facilitate relational discipleship and people feel comfortable to do life with each other.
People will continue to connect with sermons and services through podcasts and YouTube.
Pastoral
That as a church family we look out for each other and we recognise a need to act, by possibly a word of
encouragement or offer of help.
For all involved in pastoral visitation that they may know the Spirit’s power, presence and guidance.
That they will find open doors, a welcome and soft hearts that are ready to hear God’s word for them.
Continued development of Bereavement support within High Kirk and Presbytery.
‘Home for Good’ (a support group for Fostering and Adoptive parents) - that parents within the Northern Trust
area will attend and that the group will prove to meet their support needs. Pray also for volunteers to be involved
who have a heart for foster and adoptive families.
Youth
Pray that we would continue to provide a safe space for our little ones through the new crèche facilities being
closer to the sanctuary.
Pray for continued growth in our BB and GB and for the young people and families that come along each week,
who are not members of our church. Pray for conversations within the extended and more welcoming public
areas and that all would feel at home. High Kirk would be a place where children would come to know Jesus
as their Lord and Saviour.
High Kirk will be a family who encourage and guide the young people into adulthood.
These buildings will be a place where young children people feel safe and grow in their faith despite today’s
pressures and distractions.
