Birthday Celebrations
Doesn’t time fly when you are having fun?
It’s hard to believe that Hope House celebrated
its 5th birthday on the 4th September. It seems
like only yesterday since we “moved into the
neighbourhood” but what an amazing 5 years
it has been.
On the 5th September, we had a service of
thanksgiving and a birthday party, to give
thanks for Hope House and to give God all the
glory for what He has done in the lives of so
many people. We knew that the house would
be full to capacity so we decided to purchase
two gazebos as we had intended to hold our
service outdoors. You can never depend on the
weather so things did not go as planned.
We managed to erect one gazebo, half in our
front garden and half in Marie Walsh’s, our next
door neighbour’s garden. It was so windy – we
prayed hard it would stay put!!
As anticipated the house - living room/kitchen,
sitting room, stairs, gazebo – were packed to
capacity. It was an amazing night. The worship,
the message, the joy, the laughter and of course
the food complete with a massive birthday
cake. It was a wonderful way to celebrate
what our great God has done. We are so
thankful for Hope House and we are looking
forward with excitement to the next 5 years.
