KATHRYN BAILIE
Playgroup Assistant
Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator.
It has been a joy and blessing to work in High Kirk Community Playgroup for the past 12
years. When people ask what my job is like, I always respond with the same comment – “
“There’s never a dull moment” and that is certainly true!
It’s a great privilege to be entrusted with the care and pre-school education of other
people’s children and it’s a blessing to see the change in the children from when they
arrive with us in September until they leave in June.
Another part of my job which I count as a true blessing is that I work with a team of
Christian girls. It’s great to be able to sit down together in prayer at the end of a busy
week to thank God for seeing us through that week and to ask for His help for the week
ahead.
DONNA MCCURDY
Relief Assistant and Volunteer.
I have been a volunteer/relief assistant in High Kirk Community Playgroup for 8 years
now. I really enjoy coming in and helping the lovely ladies in the playgroup as every day is
so different and it’s lovely seeing the children become more and more independent.
I have benefitted as I have attended lots of training events to further my knowledge and
skills working with pre-school children.
HANNAH CRAWFORD
Student
I am at the NRC in Ballymena doing Level 5 Working with Children and Families.
I really enjoy being a student at the playgroup because I get the opportunity to interact
with children. I particularly enjoy working with this age group. This is giving me fantastic
experience for my future career. It’s great to work in a happy environment with such
amazing staff.
