Summer Madness
Summer Madness 2019 was truly a For us this was an honour and a
year to remember! As usual we packed chance to show that worship has no
up our whole wardrobes (because who constraints; no matter what age you
truly knows what the weather will be are, how professional you are or how
like) and we headed down to Glenarm long you’ve known Jesus. Everyone can
Castle for another year of fellowship, worship and my band and I had the
teaching, worship, prayer and a load opportunity to show that anyone can
of fun! worship God.
This year looked a little different for a Leading worship at Summer Madness
few of us. Jonny Hunter, Mark McKibbin, was one of the most humbling and
Ellen Macdonald, Jack Spence, Chris Godly experiences that I have had. The
Aiken and myself were given the minute you step up there you realise
privilege to lead worship on mainstage that nothing is about you, that it didn’t
(Mark and myself also got to lead late matter how good we were or how we
night worship). This was such an looked and played. We were literally
honour to all of us; we used to sit on the God’s instrument and we were blessed
planks of wood, dreaming one day we by everything that he did through us.
would get that opportunity but it never
really occurred to us that a young group Standing on that stage and seeing
of people from a Presbyterian church in thousands of people worship was so
Ballymena would really get to stand up amazing; the presence of God was so
there and lead more than 2500 people tangible and awe inspiring. We can’t
to God through the act of worship. thank God enough for giving us this
opportunity.
Leading worship at Summer Madness this year was such an opportunity to honour God
and give back to him all that I have. When I was 13, I came to faith at Summer Madness and
for me leading worship at the same festival only 5 years later was a real blessing and has
given me a new humility before God.
